 Basic Life Support 


DURATION: 1 DAY+

This American Heart Association & Resuscitation Council of South Africa course is designed for medical professionals (physiotherapists, chiropractors, homeopaths, doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists) registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Members of the public are also allowed to attend this course. Medical professionals wanting to learn or stay current with their CPR, choking, BVM and AED training and acquire the necessary Continuing Professional Development points (CPD – 15 points) as required by the HPCSA.

For those wanting to complete advanced life support courses in resuscitation, this course is a prerequisite.

CERTIFICATION:

The Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa and The American Heart Association.
11 Continuing Professional Development points (CPD).

Infant Child and Child CPR and First Aid 

DURATION: 3,5 hours

This course is focused on babies and children and prepares a parent / care giver to deal with an emergency situation.

The course will teach a parent / care giver how to perform CPR and relieve choking, as well as how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED).
The course also covers baby medications, SIDS, temperatures & febrile convulsions, dehydration, emergency access, allergic reactions, burns & first aid etc. It will prepare parents to deal with these situations and how to save lives.

Home safety is a very important section covered in this course

First Aid Essentials For Children

DURATION: 3,5 hours 

FIRST AID ESSENTIALS FOR CHILDREN course is intended primarily for those who are expected to provide CPR and first aid directly to children. The course targets all lay
responders such as parents, caregivers, guardians, domestic workers, or family members of a child at high risk for sudden death, and other laypersons wanting to learn first aid
essentials for children.

The course provides hands-on practice in the skills of first aid for children in the home,
including accident prevention, medical emergencies, trauma injuries, environmental
emergencies, CPR, choking and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). A 20-
page student workbook is provided to each participant for review before, during and after
the course.
After completing the course, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
This course is ideal for Nannies, Au pairs, School Teachers, Grandparents, Parents and
Students wanting basic knowledge in First Aid and CPR

CPR for EVERYONE

3,5 HOURS 

course is designed to teach the techniques of CPR and choking in
adults, children and infants, and the use of the AED to lay rescuers, particularly those who
are expected to respond to emergencies in their occupation or workplace. The Course is
ideal for security personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, lifeguards, swimming
coaches, health and fitness staff, corporate and retail employees and other lay responders.
The Course provides hands-on practice in the skills of CPR and choking for adults, children
and infants, including the use of barrier devices and pocket masks, and how to activate the
emergency services. A 17-page color manual is provided to each participant for review
before, during and after the course.
The student will be required to pass a 15 question multiple choice test and successfully
pass 3 skills tests before receiving a numbered Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa
certificate of competence in CPR, choking and AED. First Aid Essentials
